Ruth Fertel & John Folse: Nurturing Generations of Great Chefs
We’re working to create the third great culinary training center in the United States, at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La. Look at the plans for the Ruth U. Fertel Culinary Arts Building, download Ruth’s famous oyster dressing recipe, and learn the story of how she turned one steak restaurant she bought on borrowed money to support her kids into Ruth’s Chris Steak House, the largest fine-dining franchise in the world. The Fertel Foundation
Established in 2000 by Randy Fertel, the Fertel Foundation focuses primarily on initiatives in education – particularly those that engage issues related to the aftermath of the Vietnam War – in the arts, and in the culinary world.
